The box has a a small wall to prevent the cat(s) from kicking the pellets out of the box. There's also a sliding drawer for inserting wee wee pads. There are slats in the box, so that the urine will go onto the wee wee pads. Less odor that way. There's nothing clumping: less mess. Comes with a few wee wee pads to start.
